About these colors

DMC numbers its six-strand embroidery floss, and this chart lists 489 of them with the color name and an approximate screen color. DMC does not publish screen colors, so these values were gathered by stitchers from several sources and corrected over time. A monitor or a printer can never match thread exactly: use the chart to find a number, then check the skein in daylight before you buy.

Each color is shown with its hex and RGB values for digital design. To turn a photo into a pattern matched to these colors, choose DMC floss in the cross stitch pattern maker.
